Accountabilities
Independently conceive and execute in vitro immunologic cell therapy experiments requiring extensive knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, flow cytometry, and gene editing.
Assess and interpret data with high integrity, presenting findings to leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment to drive project advancement decisions.
Maintain a well-developed understanding of drug discovery approaches and apply broader functional knowledge to support diverse project groups.
Stay informed about the latest scientific advancements in the field, sharing and discussing relevant external literature with peers.
Work creatively to support the development of assays for validating novel cell-based therapies.
Ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice, Safety, Health, and Environment standards, as well as AstraZeneca's internal standards and external regulations.
Essential Skills/Experience
PhD in Immunology, Bioengineering, Molecular or Cell Biology, or related fields with 0-2 years of experience post-PhD.
Extensive experience in cell culture of primary human immune cells and Immunology functional assays, preferably involving T lymphocytes.
Proficiency with multi-color flow cytometry experiment design, acquisition, and analysis.
Experience with conventional molecular and cell biology techniques.
Familiarity with Regulatory T cells (Tregs) and/or effector T cells-based signaling pathways and cytokines circuits preferred.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Previous experience in the development and characterization of CAR-T cells, TCR-T cells strongly desirable.
Previous experience in T cell-based immunotherapy of autoimmune diseases and/or cancers.
Familiarity with gene editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR/Cas, mRNA, viral engineering, etc.).
Previous experience supporting in vivo studies (MoA, tolerability, efficacy, etc.).
Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
